For the price not worth it. Food was bland no seasoning I got the carne asada, could have made better at home. But the icing on the cake was the waitress, pretty sure she was on something and it was not that green. She never checked on our table once. Spent most of the time sitting in the bar on her phone I’m sorry but when the restaurant is empty and we are your only customers I expect better service. Don’t waste your time coming here go to one of the of the local Taco Trucks instead. Better service and better food. Will never be back to this restaurant.

We went earlier this year while we were next door at Menace. My wife and mother in law are Mexican and were hoping this new place would be decent. From their menu I ordered the chilaquiles. Firstly, the front desk girl couldn't find it in her system at all. I had to show her the menu to prove it was there. They had to call someone in from the kitchen to figure out what to do. They had to ring it up as something else. I don't remember what my wife and MIL got, but I know that whatever I got wasn't remotely resembling chilaquiles. They barely even qualified as nachos. It was plain flour tortilla chips with green sauce and sour cream poured on top, and hunks of scrambled eggs. I don't know what that would be, but it's not chilaquiles. My wife and MIL were likewise astonished at what they got, in a bad way.The menu nearly has as much American food such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and french fries as it does anything Mexican or Latin at all. It doesn't inspire confidence, and the food settles the deal.As the restaurant is really a Salvadorean restaurant, not a Mexican restaurant, perhaps they do Salvadorean food well. In which case they should stop pretending to be something other than that.

Stopped in to try this place. First off, lights at grocery store brightness and blowing cool air on a chilly evening do not make for good atmosphere. Decided to stick with Mexican offerings instead of the other Central American ones to gauge quality. Overall, underwhelming fare. I ordered a ground beef tostada and a taco. Both were so bland, with no discernible seasoning. Even my avocado tasted a bit past its prime. My wife ordered enchiladas mole and it too lacked flavor, depth, or heat. Honestly, I make better tacos at home.Considering several awesome Mexican places already in town, I don’t see a reason to return here.

Hubs and I have eaten here a few times now. Each time the people working have been very friendly and helpful. Being gluten and dairy free has not been an issue here. The only time they got hubs order wrong, putting cheese on his, they quickly made it right. I'm not sure what happened with the reviewer who said it was horrible but that hasn't been our experience. The place isn't shiny new but the food is good and the service has been exceptional. I don't work there and don't consider myself biased.

What a great addition to the neighborhood! So many items on their menu but be happy they are all there because so far everything had been amazing! If a restaurant can make rice and beans tasty... Everything will be tasty! Can't forget their delicious margaritas! The picture is of the bistec encebollado, delicious strip of beef with carmelized onions and bed of rice and beans. Their complementary salsa with chips is super delicious as well but that is dine in only. Can't wait to try everything on the menu! No outdoor space just indoors.

Great Mexican and Central American food. We have gotten takeout a few times and it has always been delicious and fresh. I’ve enjoyed trying dishes from Central America that I am not familiar with, and I’ve been very happy with my culinary adventures. The pastelitos have been my favorite discovery so far. The chips and salsa that came with our takeout were a welcome surprise and they don’t skimp on the food. It’s a much appreciated addition to the neighborhood, and I’m looking forward to dining in next time.

I can not wait till it has a bar and i will go everyday. The owner Junior is a very kind and generous man. Always giving us tastes of foods we had never had before. Daisy our waitress has time and time again taken very good care of us, always has the best smile on and makes me and my friends feel at home - JD

Delicious! Would definitely recommend. We had the plato guanaco (pictured) and it was amazing! Also had the baleadas (background). The portion size was bigger than we expected but still very good.

As a Canadian, one thing we can't get is good Mexican unless we cross the border into the United States. I was looking for a location I hadn't been yet and came across El Rey Latino restaurant. I was with my wife and one of my daughters and when we entered were greeted by very friendly staff. We were the only ones in the restaurant so were a little apprehensive but soon discovered that they were fairly new. The menu had many options from the various Latino countries. The food was delicious. It was well presented and the portions were generous. The complimentary chips salsa was very tasty. And at $1.25 a bottle for the drinks, an excellent value. I highly recommend this place. I'll certainly come back again.

The menu here has a WIDE variety of dishes to choose from. This hidden gem has lots of flavors (multi-cultural dishes) that can satisfy specific cravings. The really kind staff are also worth a shout out or two!!
